WAI Accessibility:
Stanca Law on Accessibility
The “Stanca” Law, which was until recently the only one of its kind (now almost all European Union member countries are adopting accessibility laws), was a sign of radical change in the relationship between disabled citizens and public administrations as regards access to and use of IT services.
Under this law, any Internet site designed or re-styled by or on behalf of Public Administrations must meet accessibility requirements.
As regards private individuals, while the law does not require them to meet accessibility standards, to consider adjusting to this legislation would certainly make information more readily available for the disabled and the users at large.
